Việt Nam’s Party and Government  always create best possible conditions for the Vietnamese and  Lao defence ministries to promote co-operation for political stability and social order and safety in both nation, said Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng. 

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s Party and Government  always create the best possible conditions for the Vietnamese and  Lao defence ministries to promote co-operation for political stability, social order and safety in both nations, said Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng while receiving Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People’s Army, Major General Vilay Lakhamphong, in Hà Nội yesterday. 

Trọng hailed growing engagements between the two armies and praised the outcomes of talks between their senior officials. 

Highlighting achievements secured in bilateral defence co-operation, a pillar in the Việt Nam – Laos relations, he urged the two armies to expand their joint work to fulfil their political missions. 

For his part, Vilay Lakhamphong informed his host on Laos’ recent affairs, the co-operation outcomes between the two defence ministries and the results of his talks with officials of the General Department of Politics of the Việt Nam People’s Army. 

He promised that in all circumstances, the Lao Defence Ministry will work closely with its Vietnamese equivalent to carry out co-operation plans and agreements sealed by high-ranking officials from both nations. 

The Lao Party, Government and army will do their best to cement the special friendship with Việt Nam for the benefits of both peoples and for peace, stability, co-operation and development in the region and the world. — VNS
