In four months launching the awards, organizing board had received many applications of organizations and individuals inside and outside the province. After the period of grading based on the criteria of business results, turnover, profits; State budget remittance; job handling; salary and income policies for employees; observance of regulations, regimes and policies of laws on business activities; effects of business activities to the environment and society; etc., the organizing board decided to give twelve awards in five categories.

Specifically, the awards for top hotel operators belonged to Laguna Co., Ltd. and Kinh Thanh Hotel Co., Ltd. (La Residence); awards for top travel agents belonged to Vietnam Travel and Marketing Transports Joint Stock Company (Vietravel), Vietnam tourism - Hanoi Joint Stock Company, Apex Viet Nam Travel Corporation, Viet Media Travel Corporation, Saigontourist Company - Da Nang branch, Vidotour Indochina Travel, and HG Hue Joint Stock Company; the award for top catering service provider was given to DMZ Joint Stock Company; the award for top shopping service belonged to Thien Huong Co., Ltd; and the award for top transport services was presented to Phuong Ty Co., Ltd.

The Provincial Department of Tourism said that Thua Thien Hue Tourism Awards would be held annually to recognize and encourage the contributions of tourism businesses in the future.
